Mama Elephant Highlight: Lovely Mums

Good morning! Hope you're having a lovely Saturday. Today, Mum's the word with Mama Elephant's Lovely Mums set. I created a card with some ombre stamping on the solid bloom. I find ColorBox Cat's Eye Queue Inks have been easiest to handle and achieve the soft ombre results. I then added a label-like strip, cradled the flower with a gold doily from Knot & Bow, and finished it off by stamping "Mum" in a similar pink, and sprinkled some sequins. Mother's Day is right around the corner and I'm looking forward to handing this card to my mum.

What beautiful flowers for beautiful ladies in your life!

For my Mama Elephant March Stampede project, I created a layout documenting my work desk on Valentine's Day. My husband sends me the loveliest floral arrangements every year. In our effort to reduce waste, he sent potted blooms the last two Valentine's Days. I love this photo because it shows last year's orchids which bloomed again along with this year's overflowing kalanchoe and ivy arrangement. Today Was and Lovely Mums is the perfect combination to highlight this photo.

Materials used: Mama Elephant Today Was and Lovely Mums stamp sets, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, ColorBox Cat's Eye Queue Inks

Here's a closer look at the stamped details:

This is one of my favorite images in the stamp set -- "Today Was" label is perfect for everyday scrapbooking!

I love the cute ampersand which is perfect as an embellishment or visually connecting words. The chevron frame is also awesome for journaling.

Finally, from Lovely Mums flower as an ombre embellishment.

I keep saying this, but seriously, these stamps are perfect for all of your scrapbooking and card-making needs. Happy stamping!

Pay It Forward: March Lucky Goodness

Hi there! At the beginning of the year, I read several Facebook and blog posts about random acts of kindness to "pay it forward." My initial thought was that I'd love to participate as someone paying it forward.

Welp, with spring near, and Zen in mind, paying it forward starts now. I'd like to start living a simpler life with less "things" and more space. I started clearing out my craft supplies collection first, since that seems to take up the most space (next to my overflowing closet). I've accumulated so much unused or lightly used supplies that I don't see myself using in the near future, so instead of boxing it all away into storage, I'd like to pay it forward.

Here's what I'm thinking: Tell me how you store your stamp supplies by commenting on this post.  Feel free to even share a link to a blog post about your stamp storage solution in your comment so that I may learn from you.

Here's how it'll work: I will randomly select a commenter on St. Patty's Day (March 17th, noon ET), and post the name of the randomly selected commenter on my blog. The randomly selected commenter will need to email me their name and shipping address. I will put together a package of at least seven brand new and lightly used supply items ranging from clear stamps to embellishments and ship it out via USPS. Because I love connecting with folks all over the world, I'd be more than happy to ship internationally too. So this is open to anyone in the world with a physical mailing address. Shipping is on me!

The package received by the randomly selected commenter will contain at least seven items. The photo below is only a representation of the goodies in my "pay it forward" stash and may not include the items shown here.

What else? All I ask in return is that the randomly selected commenter enjoy the supplies, give them a new home, and make something incredible with them to brighten someone else's day. And of course, I thank them for helping me towards clutter-free living.

Spotlight on SEI: You. Me. Oui. Spring Card

Hi! While we had a bit of snow dumped in the north east just the other day, the warm temperatures immediately after are a sure sign that spring is right around the corner. I shared a card on the SEI blog the other day inspired by spring.

Light, airy, crisp, and spots of bright colors, using SEI puff stickers and label stickers, plus a cute sentiment from one of my favorite Mama Elephant sets, Smitten. Check out the SEI blog for more details.

Mama Elephant Highlight: Rustic Spring

Good morning! Here for another Mama Elephant highlight of Rustic Spring. It is a perfect set for tag or card making!

Spring is right around the corner and this set is perfect to welcome it. When I saw the set, I knew I had to create a cute little spring scene, including yellow birdies, a birdhouse, and fluffy green grass. The nest is a real bonus. Turn it different ways to create the look of grass!

Materials used: Mama Elephant Rustic Spring; Copic Sketch Markers, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad, Clearsnap ColorBox Chalk Ink Pad, scallop square punch, Nestabilities Dies

Isn't this an awesome spring set? Love it!

Mama Elephant Highlight: Modern Borders

Good morning! Mama Elephant's Modern Borders is here to brighten your Monday. I absolutely love the twist on the typical zig zag. I used the crosshatch zig zag stamp to create some fun swiss-dot-like chevrons in varying tones. To simply finish the card off, I added a stamped heart and the cute sentiment.

Materials used: Mama Elephant Modern Borders, Say What; ColorBox Cat's Eye Inks, heart punch

Mama Elephant Highlight: Say What

Hope you're having a relaxing Sunday! Here for another Mama Elephant highlight of Say What. It is full of lovely sentiments. I made a friendship card using all these perfect sentiments from the set and I topped it off with the Gemini girls from Cosmic Stars.

Materials used: Mama Elephant Say What, Cosmic Stars; Copic Sketch Markers, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad, Clearsnap ColorBox Chalk Ink Pad, scallop square punch

To create the background, I put all of the sentiments on a large acrylic block and stamped it twice. To give this fairly monotone card, I gave the dresses an ombre design to give the card just a subtle pop of color. Finally, to give the card some additional dimension, I framed the image with a scallop mat and raised it with foam tape.

Tell me this isn't one of the best stamp sets everrrrr!
