Mama Elephant Highlight: Many Thanks

Good morning! Today's our last day of Mama Elephant August release highlights. But the fun continues on the Mama Elephant blog, so be sure to keep visiting to see what the rest of the design team creates throughout the month.

Many Thanks is perfect to tell someone thank you in so many different ways. I created this card using two sentiments that work perfectly stacked. To create the background, I first cut out triangles and masked the watercolor paper before adding a soft wash of watercolor. I loved how it was a single layer card, but then I decided to add sequins to give it some added dimension.

Mama Elephant Highlight: Foodie

Hello there! It's another Mama Elephant August release highlight. We're going to take a look at Foodie today.

I wanted to create something simple but still had lots of color and speckles to go with the super fun "be a Fruit Loop in a world full of Cheerios" sentiment to represent Fruit Loop colors. So I whipped out my Faber Castell GelsticksMetallic Gelsticks, and Gelatos to create the perfect background. What do you think?

Mama Elephant Highlight: Message Bands

Hello again! Here to highlight Mama Elephant's Message Bands. I absolutely love this stamp set because it's so simple but you can do so much with it.

I created a card for a friend who was expecting for her baby shower. I wanted to keep it soft but also give it a bit of glam, by pairing the mint and teal with some gold, because the mommy is fabulous.

Mama Elephant Highlight: Bootastic

Good morning! Today, we're kicking off the Mama Elephant August highlights with Bootastic. The perfect set for Halloween.

I created a clean and simple card using the bat image and the sentiment, "you're boo-tastic!" I kept it black and white so that the ombre sentiment would pop on the label.

I love all of this month's releases and I know you will too. I created a a layered card to say "thanks" using the sentiment and the Cheerios images from the Mama Elephant Foodie set. I was going for a super decadent look, so I created a bunch of layers on this card.

First, I started off with a medium tooth watercolor paper so that it'd have a great grit to collect the watercolors. Then, I stamped strings of Cheerios using gold ink, varying between the filled and outline image. For even more texture, I added a layer of tissue paper pennants, ran it through the sewing machine without thread, and then repeated it. And lastly, I sprinkled sequins on the card to finish it off.

Materials used: Mama Elephant Foodie; Faber Castell Gelsticks, Metallic Gelsticks, Gelatos; Memento ink in Tuxedo Black, Tsukineko Delicata ink in Golden Glitz, watercolor paper, sequins, tissue paper, sewing machine

Hi there! I'm so excited to announce the Mama Elephant August Photo Inspiration Challenge. See all details on the Mama Elephant blog. But here's the photo inspiration. Light, airy, feminine, but yet full of patterns, textures, and colors. So pretty!

Inspired by the feminine colors and patterns in the photo, I created a happy birthday card using stamps from Big Words and Water Blooms.
